MMPR - Black Ranger

This year, I got to meet Walter Jones aka Zack Taylor aka the Black Ranger. I made this poster right before the convention so I could get him to sign one for me. When I was a kid, the Black Ranger was always my favorite. I told Walter that he was the cool one and he agreed.

MMPR Mega Bloks

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Mega Bloks released the original 6 rangers as minifigs. Being such a fan of mini figures, I had to buy these as soon as I saw them.

Cincinnati Comic Expo 2013

The Cincinnati Comic Expo was a blast this year. I had such a great time with Lee and Janae there, hanging out with like-minded comic fans. There were some talented artists and some great costumes to see - including a home-made Iron Man suit with LEDs that lit up and a moving faceplate. The highlights for me were definitely meeting Xander (Nicholas Brendon) and Billy the Blue Ranger (David Yost). They were both super nice and I had fun talking to both of them. Nicholas Brendon was exactly how you think Xander would be in real life - and he hugged both of us before the photo! David Yost seems like a fun guy, too and he even put his hand on my shoulder and said "Nate, I think you're pretty morphenomenal."
It's always great to do a convention and show my artwork to people. Lee and I had a pretty successful weekend selling our work and we're thinking about trying to do more shows next year.

MMPR: the Blue Ranger

Last year I got to meet Jason David Frank (Tommy, the Green Ranger) at Cincinnati Comic Expo. This year I will get to meet David Yost (Billy, the Blue Ranger). I'm so excited to meet another one of my childhood heroes!

Draw Every Day 161-170

I wrapped up my Power Rangers sketches with both of Tommy's first costumes and Alpha 5. Then I tried my take on a few of the main Venture Bros characters and got back in to Marvel's mutants. Follow on Twitter and Instagram for daily updates @natexopher

Draw Every Day 151-160

After finishing up my alphabet with Zordon, I took my friend Ben's suggestion to play in the world of Power Rangers for a little bit longer. Y stands for Yuriko, Z stands for Zod, Zarbon and Zordon. Follow me on Twitter and Instagram for daily updates @natexopher

Meeting the Green Ranger

I guess I never posted the picture from when I got to meet the Green Ranger aka Tommy Oliver aka Jason David Frank at the Cinci Comic Expo last September. He was super nice and is actually the second celebrity I've met (the first being Dave Chappelle). He signed one of the posters I made of him (with all three names) and talked to me some about the convention and I told him that he's my favorite Ranger. Toward the end of the last day of the convention, I went back to his booth and handed him a copy of the poster to and thanked him for coming to the show. Again he was super nice and shook my hand. The comic cons in southern Ohio are still pretty small and pretty new, so he's one of the biggest celebritites we've had. Looking ahead to this September, it looks like I'll get to meet the Blue Ranger and a few other childhood heroes as the Cinci Comic Expo continues to expand.

MMPR: the Green Ranger

I had planned on doing individual posters for each of the six original Rangers, but now I'm planning something much bigger. So stay tuned...

Go Go Power Rangers

My obsession for MMPR restarted recently when I found it on Netflix. I've been watching an episode or two (or four) almost every night since. My goal is to get all the way through Mighty Morphin and also watch their first movie. This is a bigger undertaking than I expected because the first season alone has 60 episodes (I think I'm up to 57 as of this morning). I am loving every second of it though...

The first 16 episodes are exactly the same. It starts off with
