Hawkeye Update

I noticed some of my prints were looking a little old and could use a refresh. I tried to make the pose more dynamic, the proportions better, and the colors bolder.

Black Panther

I think the king of Wakanda deserves his own poster. This print will be debuting at the Cincy ComiCon this September along with Captain Marvel and Bebop and Rocksteady.

Captain Marvel

I'm happy to see Marvel is pushing Captain Marvel to be more of a flagship character. We need more cool female superheroes and, well, her name is kind of perfect.

Warrior Wolf

This started as just a fun character design trying to make a anthro wolf who was some kind of knight / warrior / adventurer. I really dug the design, so I kept playing around and tweaking him and then put him in this battle-ready pose with his magic sword. Stay tuned for further updates with this guy, I've got plenty of ideas for him but I'm still working on a good name.

Spider-Man's complicated love life

I grew up thinking Mary Jane was the girl for Spidey, but then Emma Stone really owned the role of Gwen Stacy in the new movies and made me reconsider. I probably still pull toward MJ overall, but everyone has their favorite so I made a variant poster.

MMPR - Black Ranger

This year, I got to meet Walter Jones aka Zack Taylor aka the Black Ranger. I made this poster right before the convention so I could get him to sign one for me. When I was a kid, the Black Ranger was always my favorite. I told Walter that he was the cool one and he agreed.

Ms. Marvel

This is still my favorite costume for Ms. Marvel. I wonder what she'll end up looking like for her movie in a few years.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turltes II

I've been drawing the turtles with more influences from the Nickelodeon show lately, so I thought I would update my TMNT poster to show that. I'm not taking on that style completely, but I have been taking some keys for all the turtle characters -- three toes, foot wraps, brighter colors and rounder heads. I also still like color-coded weapons and smaller ankles and wrists. I'm a fan of almost all TMNT incarnations, so I like to combine bits and pieces into my own designs.

Winter Soldier

If I had to pick, I would say that Captain America: The Winter Soldier was the best comic book movie this year. The action was amazing, the story was great, and everyone nailed their part. The Winter Soldier was such an ominous threat and a great sympathetic villain. Can't wait to see where the MCU goes from here.

Nightcrawler

The Incredible Nightcrawler is another one of my new prints for this year.

8.16.2014

Daredevil

The man without fear. Can't wait to see his Netflix show next year

Emma Frost

I've been working on a lot more character posters in preparation for this year's conventions. First up, is the White Queen herself -- Emma Frost.

MMPR: the Blue Ranger

Last year I got to meet Jason David Frank (Tommy, the Green Ranger) at Cincinnati Comic Expo. This year I will get to meet David Yost (Billy, the Blue Ranger). I'm so excited to meet another one of my childhood heroes!

Update: Cyclops

When I made my poster of Cyclops, I originally went with his modern Astonishing costume, but I was never quite satisfied with the way it looked. Even though he has spent most of his career wearing a hood, my natural instict with Cyke is to have his hair showing like the Jim Lee costume I grew up with. I thought about going with a 90s style costume for him, but I felt obligated to use his modern costume. Well, after updating Beast with a more classic costume and realizing that Cyclops isn't even wearing his Astonishing costume anymore, I went back to him and gave him the look I wanted for him. I did keep a few more modern things - he isn't wearing any yellow underwear - but I prefer the hair over the hood and the blue over the black. Now that I made these updates, I am finally happy with him.
