Hawkeye Update

I noticed some of my prints were looking a little old and could use a refresh. I tried to make the pose more dynamic, the proportions better, and the colors bolder.

Avengers Assembled

My team of Avengers is finally assembled! This will be one of my new prints at conventions this year and you can buy it right now as a t-shirt for only $14 on my TeePublic shop!

I'll keep posting the individual characters and the design decisions that went into them, so go buy a shirt and check back for more updates.

Assembling - Hawkeye

I prefer Hawkeye's classic costume, but I did try to update it a little. I like that his more modern costume uses a chevron to represent movement and the arrowhead, but his modern costume is a little too black and "practical" for me. I went with a sleeveless version of his traditional costume but used the chevron where his (admittedly ridiculous) mask attaches to the rest of his costume.

MOVIE SKETCH - Avengers

I saw it opening night and it instantly became my new favorite super hero movie (also the best, in my opinion). Totally lived up to the hype. I reall can't say enough good things about this movie, so I won't try. Aboslutely loved it.

Avengers Assemble

I told you I'd have more Avengers. I tried to include both the movie team members and the cartoon team members so fans of either could enjoy. I went pretty traditional with everyone's costume - with a little of the modern and a little of the cartoon mixed in.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye is quickly becoming one of my favorite Avengers as I'm rewatching Avengers - Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I'm really freakin excited about the Avengers movie and even though they didn't get his costume right, I hope they get Hawkeye's personality right. Now that I mention it, I guess I didn't even get ol' Clint's costume right... Oh well. I've got another image of him (and his buddies) coming up soon!

the mighty avengers

Much like my other Marvel posts, this one came about because I either haven't drawn the heroes before or it has been a long time and my style has changed. Of these characters, I think I'd only drawn Captain America and maybe Iron Man and Hawkeye. I've just recently gotten in to Thor (who is awesome) and I'm not really a fan of Vision, AntMan or Wasp, but added them to help round out the team. I didn't want the Avengers to be a boys club, but I didn't want to add Wasp without AntMan.
It's funny how many odd things come up in different members of the Avengers. IronMan and Thor both have circular details on their costumes... Hawkeye and Cap both have buccaneer style boots... Cap and Thor both have wings on their heads... Vision and IronMan have similar shapes on their faces...
I don't understand it, but you've got to love these guys.
